2024 Lunar New Year’s Shopping Festival of Xiangxi Prefecture kicks off

The 2024 Lunar New Year’s Shopping Festival of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture kicked off on January 29. At the launch ceremony, the Rainbow Shopping Mall in Qianzhou Ancient Town of Jishou City was full of people. On the site, 50 booths were arranged in sequence, with Xiangxi specialty agricultural products displayed and sold such as preserved meat, sausages, tea oil, beverages, tea products, specialty snacks, local green fruits and vegetables, and various intangible cultural heritage products, attracting many citizens. The online livestreaming session had over 30,000 viewers in just two hours. In addition, wonderful programs were staged such as gongs and drums performances as well as dragon dances. The shopping festival will continue until February 18 online and offline. Sales booths are set up in key commercial areas with a large flow of people in various counties and cities. 206 enterprises will be organized to sell more than 800 kinds of products in Xiangxi like fruit, meat, oil, rice and tea. In addition, relying on the e-commerce platforms, promotional activities such as “one-yuan flash sale” are launched, which are expected to drive market consumption of 530 million yuan.
